How to Design Your Week with Planetary Energy

Have you tried every calendar-blocking and time-management technique in the book with little to show except frustration that it just didn’t work for you?

As an ADHD business owner with a quad right variable in Human Design, I feel you.

In my 10+ year corporate marketing career, I used to struggle with constant overwhelm from undiagnosed ADHD and an extremely rigid, strategic weekly schedule.

In the process of building my business and suddenly being 100% in charge of my time, I probably tried 100 ways that didn’t work until I put these 3 key pieces together:

1. The daily planetary energy

2. The phases of my menstrual cycle

3. My personal astrology + Human Design

Astrology has long been used for self-awareness and personal growth, but did you know it can also be a powerful guide for planning your week?

In traditional astrology, the energy of the planet ruling the sunrise hour is carried through the day until sunset, meaning: each day of the week holds specific energetic themes that you can tap into to super-charge your productivity.

By aligning your projects and daily activities with the daily energetic themes, you can maximize your productivity and experience more ‘flow state’ throughout your day.

So, here’s an overview of each day’s energetic themes and ideal task focus:

Sample Weekly Schedule

Now that you understand the planetary energies, here’s a starter schedule that you can experiment with and personalize for your long-term business growh:

1. Visualize Your Week on Sunday

Start your week by tapping into the Sun’s energy. Take some time each Sunday to reflect on your goals and set clear intentions for the week ahead. Whether it’s personal growth, career advancement, or creative projects, let the Sun’s vitality and confidence guide your planning.

How I Spend My Sundays:

Relaxing, digital detoxing, spending time at the beach, recharging, and preparing for the week ahead

2. Plan and Organize on Monday

With the Moon ruling Monday, this is an ideal day to map out your week in detail. Tap into your intuition to prioritize tasks, plan your content, or organize your office space. It’s also a good day to check in with your emotional needs, practice self-care, and ensure you’re working in alignment with your inner truth.

How I Spend My Mondays:

Planning my week based on business needs, upcoming launches, and personal plans, and choosing my content topic for the following week

3. Take Action on Tuesday

Mars gives you the energy to show up, compete, and get things done. Use Tuesday to tackle your most demanding tasks, take decisive action, and be physically active. Whether it’s a challenging project or a difficult conversation, Mars provides courage and drive to push through obstacles.

How I Spend My Tuesdays:

Working on business structure and systems, addressing problems or roadblocks, making decisions, creating funnels, sales pages, and content plans

4. Communicate and Teach on Wednesday

Wednesday’s Mercurial energy is perfect for communication, learning, and intellectual pursuits. Conduct client calls and workshops, catch up on emails, or dive into learning something new. If you need to articulate ideas with precision or batch a week of content, Wednesday is your day.

How I Spend My Wednesdays:

Client calls and coaching, recording and writing content, hosting classes and workshops, updating messaging

5. Strategize and Grow on Thursday

Jupiter energy is all about expansion, prosperity, and wisdom. Use this day for big-picture thinking, strategic planning, or exploring new opportunities to teach, collaborate, and connect. It’s a great day to network, collaborate, develop offers, plan launches, and take steps toward your long-term goals.

How I Spend My Thursdays:

Client calls and coaching, building and launching offers, hosting classes and workshops, and editing and organizing content

6. Nurture Relationships and Creativity on Friday

Venus brings themes of beauty, connection, creativity, art, and values, making Friday an ideal day to engage your community, complete CEO tasks, or simply enjoy life’s pleasures. It’s a supported time to bring harmony into your work or personal life by resolving conflicts or establishing new connections, and it’s also a good day to make financial moves and investment decisions.

How I Spend My Fridays:

Client check-ins, responding to emails/DMs, Venus ritual, date night, and self-care practices

7. Organize and Reflect on Saturday

Saturn’s disciplined energy makes Saturday ideal for tasks that require focus and organization. Whether it’s cleaning, budgeting, or scoping out a long-term project, use this day to bring supportive structure to your life. Saturn delays, but he never denies – tap into this energy to work on projects and ideas where you want to see long-term success and are willing to put the work in to see it through.

How I Spend My Saturdays:

Reviewing and updating my launch timelines, content plans, and metrics trackers, and cleaning and organizing my house

Success Tips

  • Listen to Your Authority: While these planetary energies provide a general guide, always trust your authority and let it guide your decisions. Experiment with your tasks and project focus for each day, then reflect or journal on what you notice.

  • Integrate Your Astrology + Human Design: You may find it helpful to review your personal energetic placements to successfully apply this knowledge (I help with this in my 1:1 readings!)

  • Reflect Weekly: Experiment with your tasks and project focus for each day, then reflect or journal on what you notice. At the end of the week, review how the planetary energies influenced your productivity so you can fine-tune as you go.

Final Thoughts

Tapping into planetary energy has transformed the way I plan, work, and launch in my business, and it’s created BIG shifts for my clients (many of whom are neurodivergent creatives who need super individualized workflows and schedules).

A key part of this is letting your individual experience guide you and making adjustments as needed – we never want to approach our business and make decisions from a purely mental perspective.

For example: as a Scorpio Moon in the 10th house of ambition, career, and vocation, I’ve found that Mondays are ideal for connecting with the spirit of my business, visualizing and planning projects and upcoming launches, and checking in with myself to ensure I’m working in alignment with my emotional truth and purpose.

For some of my clients, Monday is a sacred day to be offline and support their emotional needs. They often meditate, journal, spend time in nature, and stay offline entirely before hitting the ground running with a fully-charged battery on Tuesday morning.

As a Saturn-ruled Capricorn Rising, I’ve found that Saturday mornings are a super-charged time for me to review actions taken during the week, gather insights, and make adjustments to my plans so I’m building for LONG-term success.

For some of my clients, Saturday is for active fun and pleasure – they have no desire to review their business when they’d rather be hiking a mountain with loved ones (and they find that Fridays are a much better fit for their CEO tasks and future planning).

Give it a try, experiment to find the right schedule for you, and let me know how it goes!
